SKF-DE-1035 Samkhya: The Science of Yoga
Sanathana Dharma has served as the foundational infrastructure for numerous traditions that have been established in various regions of this nation. Bharatiya Jnana Parampara also known as Indian knowledge systems (IKS) consists of four significant sections: the Vedas, the Vedangas, the Upa-Vedas, and the Upangas. By the Vedic tradition, knowledge is deemed fully realised solely through experiential integration. Certain Shastras, which are technical literary works, integrate the fundamental teachings from IKS and offer a convenient pre-existing product in terms of practicality and applicability, thereby enhancing the experiential aspect. In the twenty-first century, Yoga and Ayurveda have emerged as more practical medical systems on an international scale, sharing a common ground. An attribution to Kapila Muni for the Sankhya Darshana contains the foundations of both. The main objective of this course is not to provide an in-depth analysis of Yoga or Ayurveda, but rather to explore fundamental concepts derived from Sankhya that served as the foundation for the development of these medical systems.
